Encompass Family and Community are consultants in child protection and child and family welfare and community services. We provide training, research, consultancy and case services to government and community-based agencies in the child, youth and family welfare fields and have extensive experience working with non-Indigenous and Indigenous service providers.
Encompass specialises in cross-sector and cross-government projects, and the development and review of integrated service delivery. We undertake projects of any size – from one-off focus groups to Australia-wide program development and design.
Chris-Maree Sultmann, the Executive Director of Encompass, is a social worker with many years of experience in family and community services, with particular expertise in child protection, working with families of children and young people, women’s services and youth services.
Chris-Maree works with a talented group who bring a range of expertise and knowledge to work across the government and community sectors. We also work in consortia with other professionals who share our vision and values around promoting excellence in child and family welfare and community services.

Paula is passionate about learning and development for frontline workers and supervisors in child and family work. She provides an interactive training experience with a focus on supporting participants to develop their knowledge and confidence in practice. Paula is a committed and highly skilled trainer with 25 years of experience in child protection work with children, young people, their families and carers. Paula has significant experience in developing training programs for child protection staff and workers in the community sector, and in child protection training for educators. She is also an accredited Circle of Security Parenting educator, facilitating programs for both Government agencies and private clients.

Kristy has extensive experience in program and practice development, working with both government and community organisations in the fields of youth, families, homelessness, disengagement from education and family violence. Her research and evaluation skills are utilised in working alongside services to help them identify and adopt best practice standards to achieve high quality service delivery. Kristy is also a skilled and energetic trainer, bringing practical insights to the on-the-job application of theory.
